About Us

I started designing with flowers in nineteen eighty seven and opened The Wildflower almost 10 years later. It began in a small studio space in my sister's garage doing small weddings and very small parties.

My little business meant everything to me. Without a real business plan I started expanding it by launching a "big" advertising campaign which meant a full color page in the very trendy Dallas Bride and Groom Magazine. With that, I began to progressively do more and more weddings and I began to network with other vendors.

I have always felt so blessed to be doing something that I love, but that felt a little cliché because so many do what they love. What I really should say is I feel so passionate about my business and the brides who really put all their trust in me. My brides are always on my mind which seems so silly to say but it is the absolute truth. Many nights, after a long Saturday filled with weddings, I can sit down have dinner and relax — but the only thing I can think of are I hope they don't forget to light the candles, or I hope they didn't forget to put the halo on the flower girls, I hope it doesn't rain and so and so on.

This is an extremely challenging business to be in. I have a great deal of respect for the people who decide to dedicate their life to this business as I know its rewards and challenges.

The support of your entire family is so important. My parents really gave me the freedom to do this instead of continuing college, I think they may have had many days of worrying about my decision but they never said anything to discourage me. Both my sisters have helped and supported me in more ways then I could ever say.

My husband Marc and I have been married since 2000 and our little boy Major was born in 2003. My son has made my life blossom in full color!! Everything seems so clear. It is such a luxury to work here at my studio and have my son and husband down the hall playing baseball what a wonderful feeling.

Lastly, I have to give my husband credit for the direction my business is going today. He works harder and works longer hours then any employee. He is a loving, tenderhearted father who adores his son. He has more confidence in me then I do in myself. He pushes me every single week to do more, to do better and to work harder!! He is the love of my life and sometimes the thorn in my side. Ha ha! For everyone who takes some time to read this, I wanted you to know a little bit about how I got here but most of all I want you to know that The Wildflower is not just a job for me. It's my passion in life!! I love it!
